Three restaurants in the Brooklyn Bridge Park / Dumbo area in New York
One of the most beautiful areas of New York is not in Manhattan but in Brooklyn. I’m talking about the Brooklyn Bridge Park and Dumbo area, which comprises the area near the Brooklyn Bridge. Think of wide space with green area and incredible views, on the edge of the East River. Even though I’ve lived here for 5 years, every time I walk through the region, I’m always enchanted and what I see. And because I find this place so beautiful and special, I think it also deserves a special meal. So in today’s post I share three restaurants for lunch, dinner or brunch.

Sugarcane – this restaurant, with locations in Miami and Las Vegas, opened a location in New York in 2017 and has been among the lists of best restaurants in Time Out and the New York Post. The idea here is to share small plates from the three kitchens – raw bar, traditional cuisine, and grill. Small plates start at $ 11 and include options with vegetables, meats, and seafood. One of the highlights of the house is the Duck & Waffle ($23). The octopus and the sliders are very tasty too. Everything we ate at the restaurant there was extremely well done and delicious. If you want sushi, there are rolls options starting at $12. Also, there is the brunch option with main course + two small plates for $29 per person. During the week, at lunchtime, there is a poke bowl and burger for $18. The atmosphere is a delight and well worth experiencing the drinks and beers. If you come during the warm months, ask for a table outside, as the view of the Brooklyn Bridge is amazing.

Celestine – it features Mediterranean food and its prime location provides incredible views of the Manhattan Bridge and, depending on the table, also on the Brooklyn Bridge. The interesting thing about Celestine is that, because of glass walls, you can enjoy the view even while inside the restaurant. The atmosphere is super cozy and the food is delicious too. In summer, the outdoor tables provide a super nice experience. During the brunch, served on Saturdays and Sundays, or lunch, from Monday to Friday, dishes starting at $14. As the inspiration is Mediterranean, you will find options like hummus, Greek salad, appetizers with pita bread, among others. My recommendation here is the Prime Beef Brisket Burger ($ 16) and Steamed Egg (a dish with lamb, yogurt, egg, and potatoes). Also, Moroccan Donut is a great dessert choice! For dinner, the options start at $ 27. Make your reservation
Address: 1 John Street.
Cecconi’s – this restaurant is located between Jane’s Carousel and Manhattan Bridge with spectacular views. Here the menu features Italian options, with pizzas (from $23 to $46) and pasta (from $18 to $42), as well as salads ($16) and other appetizers and side dishes (which cost $9 and $22). Remember that the pizzas are good for sharing. The burrata and the pizza are very tasty and there are several drinks options too. These options are part of the All Day menu, which serves lunch and dinner. If brunch is the idea, classic egg dishes start at $12. Make your reservation
